Richard Albert Bretschneider Unleashes Chaos and Heart in 'Fire in the Nice Guy'

Richard Albert Bretschneider

Some songs get stuck in your head while others get under your skin. ‘Fire in the Nice Guy’ by Richard Albert Bretschneider does both. Then throws a stadium full of screaming furry puppets at you for good measure. Richard is a German composer best known for his score to the cult horror-comedy Hell’s Kitty. He has also been nominated for the German Film Music Award and the Jerry Goldsmith Award. But this time, he has stepped away from film and thrown himself headfirst into something loud, messy, and real.

Fire in the Nice Guy is a rock anthem for anyone who has felt too quiet for too long. It is a shout from someone who is done playing nice just to fit in. The song hits hard, but it also makes you smile. It is strange and fun, but there is something honest underneath it all. The video takes things even further. Made with the help of generative AI, it is a psychedelic and puppet-filled chaos ride that somehow feels more human than most “perfect” videos out there. It is not just weird for weird’s sake; it actually says something. This is the first release from Richard Albert Bretschneider’s new band, Locked in Rotation. He is working on their debut EP now, along with new film scores and a music tech project that brings handmade sound into the digital world.
