DeRay continues to Prioritize Formless Energy over Structure in the Latest EP ‘City Lights’

DeRay

Critics get never satisfied with amateur music work but certainly, they were dumbfounded when they heard the majestic collection of ruthless hip hop singles from DeRay’s newly announced EP City Lights. He waits for a year to record five songs that can sabotage the glitz and glam of the music industry. The Indiana rapper DeRay works on many layers of sound to make a flat blend of freestyle and gangsta rap. He is in flux while his career is at the peak. Changing the tradition of his music can be challenging for him at this point. But he is vexed about the reality and he shows his deepest concerns in the song ‘Fangs’ featuring Sami Soutar- Lightsey. Every word out of his mouth comes out like a plume of flame.

DeRay grew up in Marion Indiana, but, soon he moves out to live in Kokomo to sustain a colorful career in music. He gets huge acceptance from the young followers of hip hop who found uncanny relevance with reality. ‘City Lights’ is an outstanding EP released in late December 2020 and it will take you backward, in the days of misery and despondency. ‘Fade Away’ featuring Brooklyn Hill has a connection with his solo career that is often shaken by stark criticisms. The poetic verses of the track ‘The Fall’ offers a compelling balance between all-inclusive references and genuine confessions.
