Jisoo is currently buzzing at the top of the Global Music industry by becoming the first-ever million-selling female solo K-pop artist. Her last musical project ‘ME’ has garnered a lot of attention around the world and on Tuesday, her agency YG Entertainment announced a record million cop. This versatile singer from BLACKPINK has sold over 1.02 million copies in less than a week. The album has been released on Friday and it is already breaking all the records. She is the first ever female K-pop artist to achieve this milestone.
Not to mention but Jisoo has been quite famous with her group performances in BLACKPINK and now her solo musical ventures are also showing some great progress. ‘ME’, the latest two-track EP has sold over 875,149 copies on the first day of its release which is also the highest record for any K-pop female singer to ever achieve not only for the first-day sales but for overall sales as well.
YG Entertainment said, "This makes Jisoo the only K-pop solo singer to have a million-selling album both as a female solo artist and as a part of a team." They also mentioned, "Jisoo's solo project as the last member of the group comes as another valuable feat as Blackpink continues to grow its influence and lead the global music scene." Previously, Lisa from the group sold 730,000 copies during the first week of her solo album ‘Lalisa’ in 2021. Followed by Rosé, managed to sell over 440,000 copies of her solo album ‘R’ in the same year.

Who is Jisoo?
Kim Ji-soo, better known as Jisoo is a talented singer and actress from South Korea and a member of BLACKPINK. This versatile artist gained a huge amount of exposure during her group performances with the girl gang and now she is creating history with her solo endeavors. Working under the label of YG Entertainment, the singer first started her career as an actress and starred in multiple music videos as well as the drama series ‘The Producers’.
